OK! We are almost at the date where DMV Tesla Owners will set a US domestic record for number of cars in a light show! As of Wednesday evening, we have 189 registered vehicles! Mark Czajka created this fun little video with some basic instructions on how to get to the Stadium parking lot. Some key points to remember:

  • Please try to arrive around 4:00 - 4:30 PM. We plan on starting to get cars from staging to show area around 4:30PM, starting with Cybertrucks, then Model X's, then S's, then 3's and Y's as logistics and safety permit. If you arrive later, we will fit you in when and where we can, but it likely will not be with other vehicles of your type (unless you're in the majority with a Model Y).
  • We have been given access to the Stadium bathrooms after 5PM. If you need to go beforehand, there's the BJ's and various restaurants on the way in.
  • We won't have any food, so if you have to have something, please bring a snack.
  • As we have close to 200 vehicles, please be patient with us, as we give you directions once you get there. Watch out for other vehicles and people while driving in the parking lot too. Roaming island curbs may try to attack your rims as well.
  • Once your vehicle is moved to the show area, please stay nearby. We will be handing out USB sticks with the custom light show provided by Simon Pollock (mastermind behind these custom light shows) when we're getting ready for the show to begin.
  • If you've never done a custom light show before, please review this YouTube video.
  • If you have other USB storage plugged in, you may need to gracefully (i.e. stop recording DashCam / Sentry) unplug them first, so the custom light show will be recognized. This depends on model of car and version of software.
  • The weather forecast is looking good, albeit a bit chilly with temperatures at or likely just below freezing. So please dress warmly. You will not be able to sit in your vehicle once the light show is scheduled, until after it's done.
  • We will provide instructions on when to schedule the light show; be sure to check Dance Moves after scheduling, unless we say otherwise.
  • Once the light show is scheduled, please close all doors and step away from the vehicle. Opening doors or getting to close to some vehicles will cause them to abort, and that's not a good thing.
  • We plan on doing two shows - the first will be the official one where all of us humans will watch from the designated spectator area by the trees, and the second you can walk amongst the vehicles (with same caveat of not getting too close and watching out for opening and closing doors, frunks, and trunks).
  • But most of all, have fun! This should be a blast!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Hmmmmmm… 4pm to 8pm will require an early dinner while driving down. May need to do some internet sleuthing!

@rickdyeyahoo-com The show itself probably won't start until 7PM +/- given past experience (although we are working on streamlining what we can). I would imagine positioning cars will happen as soon as you arrive or very close to it, and the layout is still TBD. There is a Chick-Fil-A and Subway near the entrance, and a BJ's sharing the (rather large, admittedly) parking lot(s) for rest room access. Early dinner, snacks, late dinner, whichever option works best. It is unlikely there will be any formal dinner available from the event itself.

You may see some weird error messages about not able to find valid value for id; that's an artifact of me canceling a duplicate registration (which is no longer allowed). Harmless message.

All, looks like the baseball team rebranded themselves to be Chesapeake Baysox, and the actual stadium name is Prince George's Stadium (street address in the event is correct). The logistics for vehicle arrangement are still underway, but the picture below gives a high level idea of what we'll be doing. There will be a staging area, and the area indicated in the image is where we'll direct cars for the show. Most likely CyberTrucks will be together, maybe some kind of red / white candystriping to each side, Model X's on the ends. We'll direct you in when we're all there.

Another note about some issues we've seen in the past when you have multiple USB devices attached: sometimes your vehicle just won't recognize the custom Light Show.

It's best to unplug them (pausing video for Sentry if that's one of them before unplugging) and plug the USB stick we'll give you in, for the custom Light Show to even show up. You can then plug in your other devices to get that functionality back too, as long as said other devices don't also have a LightShow folder of course.

Good news! Thanks to Mark Czajka's efforts, we have access to stadium bathroom(s) after 5PM. If you gotta go before, there's always BJ's or Subway or any of the local establishments, although walking there is not very practical. You should be able to still drive there, provided you get back in time.
