Find all the latest information about the 2025 Summer Light Show plus ask questions in this forum topic. Email announcements are expected to go out Sunday May 25, event is Saturday June 28.
I hope everyone who was able to attend had a great time last night! If you attended and no one explicitly marked your attendance (and are one of the few people who read these forum posts), please reply so we can mark your attendance accordingly. Thank you!
@btcrealm thanks. Note that you can actually have Sentry running with a light show if you schedule it from within the vehicle. It's just the app that requires Sentry mode off. Not sure if we're going to be doing dance moves; that'll be part of the instructions given before the show.
Vehicle height to medium applies to every vehicle that has adjustable suspension (C, X, and I think S).
We are a GO! There's a coin-toss chance that we may get wet early evening, as storms have popped up for the past several days. Maybe the Fairgrounds will be in the path, maybe they won't, but these don't typically last long so we should be fine.
The last bulk email update went out this morning. Anyone who registers between now and when registration closes at 3PM will get that email sent manually.
if you don't have a QR code because you didn't read the email (maybe got blocked by your provider although I see no failed deliveries, maybe it's in your spam folder), we'll work that on a case by case basis.
See you there!
If you need to leave early for whatever reason (or think you might have to if you're e.g. on call), let us know and we'll park you in the "early departure" zone. You'll be put at the end of the appropriate row if you're still around for the light show. Once you're parked in the light show area, you won't be able to move until we're done.
Attached is our current parking concept, for reference. We will guide you to where you should park when you arrive.
All, attached is a PDF of our planned schedule for the event. Later arrivals may not have time to partake of the food trucks.
Given how hot it is expected to be, it may be a good idea to bring some cold (non-alcoholic...) drinks. While there will be the ice cream truck and the taco truck which will probably have some cold drinks on hand, having your own can't hurt. A chair, bug spray, and sunscreen may be worth bringing as well.
Some things to remember to tell cybertrucks:
- Turn off sentrymode (everyone)
- Turn off walk away door locks (allows dance moves)
- Leave vehicle unlocked (allows dance moves)
- Open tonneau cover
- Set vehicle height to medium
Another thing to consider when lining up cybertrucks is that some of us have the lightbar. This will be used with some lightshows. A consideration for placement in a formation.

FYI, the deadline has passed for any drone applications. If you have not already gotten approval to bring a drone, please do not bring one. Trying to fly an unapproved drone on the fairgrounds will result in disciplinary action. Thank you.
Mere DAYS to go now! We have a layout in mind, but depending on the number of cars it may change slightly. When you arrive via the Dalamar Street entrance (turning onto Poplar Avenue to enter the fairgrounds), someone will guide you to where to park.
We plan on having a training session for how to schedule a light show in your app, plus take a group photo. Final timing details will be shared on the last planned email update Saturday morning, and of course we'll be announcing these things on the fairgrounds.
If you haven't already run a lightshow, especially from your phone, it's a good idea to just practice running one before Saturday so it's not totally new to you. Remember we have an FAQ on this for reference.
We are watching the weather forecast, but it's too soon to really know what's going to happen (different apps, different models, different times checking, they don't always agree, but so far chances look good that we'll be fine). Unless there's a severe risk of persistent damaging storms when we'd be on the fairgrounds, we plan on holding the event. There is unfortunately no rain date.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! (As of now, 124 participating vehicles and 10 Honor Guard).
11 days to go, and we're at 93 light show vehicles! (Assuming there are no duplicates; I may be sending individual emails if it looks like a duplicate entry is there)
While the entrance is the same, we're going to be parking in a different location on the fairgrounds to avoid any unnecessary off-roading, after a recon visit by the events team. We'll guide you in when you get there. A diagram will be posted and shared sometime in the next week or so once we finalize things.
Also, not that this has ever been a problem before, but, please don't bring any pets.
Some updates:
- The entrance to the fairgrounds will be just past 33 Dalamar Street. Do not use the main entrance as it will probably be blocked off.
- There will be other events going on at the fairgrounds that day too, including a goat show by the barn. Might be fun for kids, but please be back to your vehicles by 8PM so we can have our own GOAT light show.
- Food trucks have been confirmed as California Taco Truck (options for vegetarians too) and Bruster's Ice Cream.
- This is a private event. Any vehicle attending, including non-participating ones from friends or family, needs to register. We don't need unique names and email addresses for all guests or passengers.
