My name is Jim Kovakas and I have a 2023 S Plaid which has a Yoke.  I have purchased an after market wheel and I'm looking for any recommendations for a individual mechanic or shop that might assist me with the installation.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Jim, Morrison Constable has done lots of aftermarket installs on Tesla's. You'd normally contact him on Facebook; he's not active on this website any more. If you want, I can pass your contact info on to him.

Michael,  I would appreciate your referring me to Mr. Constable.  My email is jkovakas@gmail.com

I have a 2023 Model S Plaid with the yoke.  I want to replace the yoke with a wheel and keep the heat and center manual horn.  Any thought would be appreciated.  Tesla has identified the part numbers as follows: wheel is 1965073-00-B, airbag is 1965183-00-A.  Tesla doesn't have these parts at this time.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks for your interest.

Thanks Michael for the notice of this post.

Hi Jim,

I am sorry to say that while I am able to help, liability stops from doing so, given it is part of the car that should someone crash in it (you, someone else borrowing it, next owner, etc) would be too easy for an insurance company to go after me for the ramifications of yhat. I am not in this business (helping those who want aftermarket additions to not have to do, or try to, DIY their install) to spend hours upon hours, and lots of money defending myself against large corporations with "unlimited" resources.

I would recommend you first talk to Quan from East Coast EV in Eldridge. He does a lot of stock Tesla repairs.

And should you have desire to have any other aftermarket installs in mind in the future, I can most readily be contacted on carinstallservices@gmail.com . I only install on Tesla's, and have 30 kits amongst the 4 models, and a few on the CyberTruck to my experience over the past almost 6 years.

Thanks,

Morrison
