Summer 2025 Light Show

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We're planning another ginormous light show event!

Calling all Teslas! We will be doing another Tesla Light Show event, with a worldwide light show provided by Simon Pollock. We haven't locked down the venue yet, but we are planning to hold this event at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, courtesy of Total Recon for paying the fairgrounds fee!

Fairground logistics are TBD. Entrance will probably be via the Dalamar Street entrance off Rockville Pike.

The notional schedule is to start arriving after 6PM, going straight to the show area. Volunteers / Club officers will guide you to where to park. We will provide USB drives and register your vehicle's attendance. The show itself is planned to start after sundown (approximately 8:30PM). Plugging in this USB drive is a requirement for your vehicle to play the light show, as we will not be distributing the light show files any other way.

We are still working on the vehicle layout. Updates will be provided here, in the forum post, periodic reminder emails, and when you arrive.

The plan is to have a food truck and an ice cream truck onsite as well. More information will become available once we have that locked down.

Please review the Light Show FAQs for more information on who can play them and how to play them. If your vehicle can't play custom light shows (early Model S & X, Roadsters), you are still welcome to attend for the social fun, plus we have some ideas to incorporate your vehicle into the show. We're always looking for volunteers to help with logistics too.

Our goal is have over 200 vehicles to set a new Americas record. When you register, it will ask for vehicle year, make, and color for our records. If you're logged in and have done this before, that will auto-populate but you can of course change that if you've, I dunno, gotten a new vehicle since the last light show.

While you can register up to six guests per vehicle which would help give us an expected count for e.g. food truck purposes, what we really care about is number of vehicles for the light show (for things like layout planning and USB count).

Anyone wanting to operate a drone at the event must complete a form provided by the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Contact Mark Czajka for a copy of the form.

Watch this space for more updates, and thanks for partaking of the light show fun!
