Chattanooga Charge 2025

Several Officers and Members represented the Tesla Owners Club of Maryland at the first annual Chattanooga Charge event held from Friday March 28 to Sunday March 30. We were invited to attend in no small part due to our record-setting 2024 Holiday Light Show, which put our Club on the map.

There were 173 check-ins with 159 vehicles with somewhere between 250 and 300 people from all over the nation.

No one reported any problems at all with the trip down, SuperCharging without incident. The theme of the event was Peace, Love, and Tesla; while the organizers did provide a police presence, there was never any concern over that.

Saturday ended with another epic light show, the YouTube video of which is available here. As a reminder for anyone wishing to participate in these light shows (and please do, they’re lots of fun!) … don’t expect them to end on schedule.

There are many photos that were taken and shared, but apparently there is no good way to display them any more since Google changed their Photos API which broke our plugins. That’s a bummer.

Tesla Owners Club of Maryland 2024 Holiday Party

The Tesla Owners Club of Maryland Officers and Volunteers were happy to provide our members with the third annual Holiday Party, once again hosted by Tesla Rockville. Catering was paid for by DC Clear Auto Bra and provided by Zest Catering. Given all the positive feedback about the food, we’ll definitely keep them in mind for future events…

We hope you all had as good a time as we did. You can see all of the shared pictures and videos from the event below.

2024 TOCMD Holiday Light Show

For the global Tesla Holiday Light Show provided by Simon Pollock at xlightshows.io, the Tesla Owners Club of Maryland (and guests) represented in FORCE!

The Chesapeake Baysox graciously let us use their vast parking lot (we’ll be hosting an event there during a baseball game during the 2025 season too, so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement) to host a record turnout. 223 vehicles registered, and 190 showed up.

Special thanks go to Ty Burke and Mark Czajka for organizing what turned out to be a fairly smooth and highly enjoyable event.

The official Global YouTube video from Simon is here (we started it off and appeared twice more), and you can see all the behind the scenes and user-submitted photos and videos below.

2024-10-18 Oktoberfest Light Show

The Tesla Owners Club of Maryland hosted an epic light show, which even brought Simon Pollock, the creator of these light shows from xlightshows.io, out to Maryland to attend in person. Our goal was at least 50 cars.

The official tally was 103 participating with 4 others in attendance (but not able to run custom light shows). It was EPIC!

Thanks to Frank Noe for once again taking care of all the permissions required to use Frederick Airport.

The official YouTube video is at https://youtu.be/UYQa-0VusTA?si=TXkYugM9nJWW0jpx. See below for the pictures everyone has shared to Google Photos (unfortunately it looks like the layout is still a little weird, but at least videos play now).

2024-05-03 May the Fourth Lightshow Frederick Edition

Once again, the Tesla Owners Club of Maryland Represented for a Global Light Show event! This time, 46 Teslas and their humans showed up at Frederick Airport to perform the May the Fourth light show. There was one original Roadster, 3 (count ’em, 3!) Cybertrucks, six Model X’s, one Model S, 18 Model 3’s, and 17 Model Y’s.

Be sure to check out the official YouTube video compilation of the global event too! Maryland has three snippets in there, two from the Southern Maryland event from mid April (drone footage) and one from this event (no drones allowed near airports, so that was taken from outstretched arms held overhead height).

Special thanks to Frank Noe for coordinating use of the airport grounds, as well as Mark Czajka and Ty Burke for all their work with the event logistics.

2024-02-11 Tesla Model 3 Refresh Unveiling

Tesla reached out to the Club for a special event to see the Tesla Model 3 refresh (“Highland”) and be able to take some demo rides. Despite the early time, many folks went to the Montgomery Mall location and were thoroughly impressed with what they saw. See below for pictures of the event.

2023-12-30 TOCMD Light Show

Our Second Annual Tesla Owners Club of Maryland Holiday Light Show, organized again by Tyron Burke, was a success! A grand total of 54 Teslas and their humans congregated on the top floor of a parking garage in Montgomery Mall to synchronize playing “The Arrival.” It took a few tries while carbon-based life forms braved the cold (and the occasional question from Mall Security), but we got it.

Afterwards, some folks grabbed a bite to eat at the California Pizza Kitchen there.

See below for the photographic and video proof.
